Samuel & Gunnar

Samuel & Gunnar are an Icelandic directors’ team, combined with half a century experience in directing ads. This all began in video clubs during their school years, but since then they have climbed in complete harmony the enjoyable and often steep ladder of directing, stepping once in a while in post production, editing and in other useful and informative places. Samúel & Gunnar work closely together and have a keen eye for big as well as tiny details. They have been awarded and nominated for more awards than any other Icelandic director, for ads and music videos, in Iceland and abroad, including the Iceland Advertising Award, Lúðurinn, which they have won 16 times, in addition to 40 nominations. They have also been awarded and nominated at the biggest advertising festivals of the world, like Cannes Lion, Effie, British Arrow Awards, Addy, Epica, Shark Award, Cine Gold, Telly, Cresta Awards, to mention a few.
