Guðný Rós Þórhallsdóttir is born and bred in Egilsstaðir, but she says that it has not done her much harm. She loves bad weather but prefers to stay inside during it. She also loves cats and reading books on the end of the world. Nevertheless, she’s a very positive and lively person. When she’s not writing or preparing a project, then she knits, plays Scrabble online or trains her cats in sitting on her shoulders. When she was still studying, she won the prize for the best short film at Stockfish for her film, Vitamin C, which was also her first short film. She graduated from The Icelandic Film School in the spring of 2017 when she was rewarded for the best movie of a production department as well as the best graduation film for the film Dagurinn sem baunirnar kláruðust. Both of these movies have been shown around the world and have also been at several festivals. Guðný Rós directed the videos of Gagnamagn in The Eurovision Song Contest and the former video, Think about Things, that became a worldwide hit and even Russell Crowe shared the video... twice.
